Thomas & Cassidy’s Charming Acreage Wedding in Innisfail, AB

There is something inherently special about a wedding held on land that already holds a lifetime of memories. Thomas and Cassidy chose to celebrate their marriage at Thomas’s family acreage in Innisfail, a place that has been a backdrop for their relationship for years. Seeing a familiar family property transformed into a wedding venue is always a highlight for us, but the effort this crew put into the transformation was on another level.

The centerpiece of the celebration was the massive, newly built shop where the reception was held. It provided that perfect blend of a clean, modern space with the relaxed, open-air feeling you only get in rural Alberta. It didn’t feel like a temporary setup; it felt like a permanent tribute to their future together.

One of the most cinematic moments of the day was Thomas’s arrival. He leaned into his love for classic vehicles by showing up in a stunning teal Pontiac Firebird. Whether it was the roar of the engine as it pulled up to the ceremony or using the vintage lines of the car for their portraits later in the evening, that car brought a serious shot of personality and "cool" to the gallery. It wasn't just a prop; it was a reflection of the things they actually love.

The energy of the day was kept high by a wedding party that was, quite frankly, a blast to work with. From the ceremony through to the late-night celebrations, the atmosphere was a mix of genuine emotion and high-energy fun.

As the sun began to set over the Innisfail fields, the "Whiskey and Cigar Bar" became the place to be. It provided a sophisticated, relaxed corner for guests to catch up and enjoy the evening air. We also have to give a huge shout-out to the team from Scotch and Soda. Their bartenders didn't just serve drinks; they were part of the experience, keeping everyone looked after with a level of professionalism that we really appreciated seeing.

Thomas and Cassidy’s day was a perfect example of why acreage weddings are so unique. It wasn't about following a standard venue's timeline—it was about creating a day that felt like home. We feel so lucky they invited us to document it all through both film and photography.
